Purpose & Genre

I am making a Grime genre magazine called 'Wireless' which will be available in print form and online.  I will release this every week to ensure that the loyal target audience is constantly kept up-to-date with these grime artists. I will be producing this magazine to entertain the young target audience, promote their albums and inform them updates with all their favourite North London grime artists lives, tour date,  reviews and more. Additionally, my magazine will entertain readers through the content and online link. As Grime music is incredibly popular amongst North London both for fans and artists, it seems logical to create a magazine that celebrates and promotes this music. Additionally, there is a lot of content to write about so we won't struggle to produce monthly editions.

Form

As the brief outlines, Wireless will be in print form and also online. This allows me to ensure that it is easily accessible for all of the target audience, especially due to technology being very common amongst my youth target audience. This grime magazine will be sold on the 2nd of every month so that the target audience can be updated regularly. The print form will also be a glossy cover, with recyclable pages inside to help with the environment.

The online platform will be available with a subscription whereby there's extra content, videos and exclusive interviews, reviews and more. This will make the target audience want to pay a little extra to access this exclusive content, as well as the normal full edition that's presented in a print form.

Content

Within my magazine I will be including exciting and exclusive content such as interviews with the current, popular grime artists, reviews of concerts or music (reviewed by members of the public or the artist them self), tour and album release dates and more exclusive information. I will also be including links to the online edition whereby the target audience can watch unseen footage of artists. As well as this it will also contain opportunities for the audience to get involved and win the chance to get a preview listen to artists new album before it is released.

My double page spread will consist of a review of my grime artists recent concert. I will include reviews from the public who attended the concert and also a mini interview with the artists themselves. I will do this by reaching out to people who we can see has attended the concert through social media posts and tags.

Target Audience

Wireless magazine will be aimed at 15-25 year olds due to grime being a popular and hot topic in today's society. Although the majority of grime artists are males, my magazine will be aimed at both genders because both males and females are interested in the genre of grime. I will appeal to both males and females through the colour scheme and inclusion of both male and female artists. Many grime artists come from the working class themselves and for that reason they inspire many other working class individuals, therefore the price of the printed magazine is very affordable, £2.50, so that everyone of that target audience is able to afford it. Online subscription will be £3.50 a month due to the extra and exclusive feature you can get. Also there are grime artists of many races, hence Wireless not discriminating any races.

Secondary audience?

Distribution and Marketing Methods

Wireless magazine will be distributed in corner shops all over North London so that the young target audience of 15-25 year olds are able to go down the road to purchase it each month. As well as this, I will also be distributing it in supermarkets and shops such as WHSmiths so that is easily accessible when doing your food shop or even in the airport, this will all be £2.50. However, Wireless magazine will also be available online with a subscription of £3.50 a month due to the increase of content and exclusive features of videos and getting involved.

When it comes to marketing Wireless magazine, I will make a Wireless social media account on platforms such as Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat due to it being highly used amongst the young generation which my target audience is in - this is free, therefore won't endure any costs, but will target the younger market as this is their fundamental means of communication. In terms of a USP within the marketing, I will promote and advertise the articles and also could include interactive competitions where if someone reposts my page, they have the chance to win the subscription free of charge. This is will attract more target audiences and make more people aware of Wireless magazine.

Unique Selling Point

As well as what has been discussed above within the distribution, Wireless Magazine is a grime magazine featuring all the popular artists and an insight into the lives. In North London there is no other magazine solely on the Grime genre, therefore my magazine is a great opportunity to attract loads of grime audience. As well as this I have interactive elements to my magazine such as links that can be used online for extra content such as exclusive interviews with grime artists, or chances to win previews to unreleased albums or tickets to concerts. These links will be accessed via the social media account, however within the hard copy readers will scan a QR code.

Resources and Personnel

I will try borrow the equipment needed so I can save money in my budget, but still hire some equipment that I need to make my magazine the best it can be.

- SD Cards to have plenty of storage for all the shots
- Computer to upload and edit all the content

Software:
- Adobe Photoshop/image editing software to edit and create my pages
- Microsoft Word to write up all information received such as Interview, Reviews and more

Title of Magazine

The name of my magazine is Wireless as I want the target audience to feel free when they are reading my magazine. It makes it feel like they aren't tied up like wire, but feel to escape into the world of grime through all the entertainment and information my magazine holds.

Some of my ideas of the fonts of the Wireless headline are:

(Impact label)

(Bad signal)

(Plane crash)

(Soloist)

Fonts for the cover lines:

(Timeless)

Mood Board

My mood board is full of different popular grime artists who I know is popular in North London, this helps me to stem ideas of who's hot today and what artists I should include in my Grime magazine

Colour Scheme

I want Wireless Magazine to consist of three colours. This includes blue, red and white. I want to keep my colours plain and minimal so that all the focus is on the artist and the content. In addition, as Wireless magazine is equal for both/all genders, the colours are not specific to a certain gender but instead is neutral for all.
